2. Visiting the website (server logs)

When you visit this website, our hosting provider automatically processes technical data (e.g. IP address, date and time of access, page requested, browser type, referrer). This processing is necessary to provide the website securely and reliably (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR). Data is deleted or anonymised after a short period.

Hosting: This website is hosted on the infrastructure of Lovable / Cloudflare.

When you first visit our website, a cookie banner appears. Strictly necessary cookies (e.g. to store your cookie choice) are set on the basis of our legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR / § 25 (2) TTDSG). All other cookies and any analytics or marketing tools are only loaded after your explicit consent (Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR, § 25 (1) TTDSG).

You can adjust or withdraw your choice at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer. The lawfulness of processing carried out until withdrawal remains unaffected.

4. Analytics & marketing tools

The services below are only loaded if you have consented to the respective category (statistics or marketing) in the cookie banner. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR and § 25 (1) TTDSG. These providers may transfer data to the USA on the basis of the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and, where certified, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

a) Google Analytics 4 (statistics)

Provider: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Purpose: pseudonymous reach measurement and analysis of usage to improve our offering. Processed data includes truncated IP address, device/browser info, pages visited and interactions. More information: policies.google.com/privacy

b) Meta Pixel / Facebook Pixel (marketing)

Provider: Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, Merrion Road, Dublin 4, Ireland. Purpose: measuring the effectiveness of our advertising and delivering interest-based ads on Facebook/Instagram. Processed data includes IP address, device/browser info, pixel ID and pages visited. There is joint controllership with Meta for the collection. More information: facebook.com/privacy/policy

c) Pinterest Tag (marketing)

Provider: Pinterest Europe Ltd., Palmerston House, 2nd Floor, Fenian Street, Dublin 2, Ireland. Purpose: conversion measurement and optimisation of Pinterest ads. Processed data includes IP address, device/browser info, tag ID and page visits (PageVisit). More information: policy.pinterest.com/privacy-policy

5. Newsletter (Companion Circle)

You can subscribe to our newsletter “Companion Circle” on the /circle page. We process your email address and the timestamp of subscription and confirmation.

The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR. Subscription uses a double opt-in procedure — you will first receive a confirmation email.

Purpose: sending editorial content related to House of Tails and accompanying your animal.

You can withdraw your consent at any time — via the unsubscribe link in every email or by message to hello@houseoftails.studio. After withdrawal, your address is removed from the list.

Processor: We use MailerLite (MailerLite Limited, Ground Floor, 71 Lower Baggot Street, Dublin 2, D02 P593, Ireland). Data processing is based on the Data Processing Addendum (DPA) to MailerLite’s Terms of Use, which satisfies the requirements of a data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR. MailerLite may transfer personal data to third countries (including the USA) on the basis of the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

6. Contact by email

When you contact us by email, we process your details to handle your request (Art. 6 (1)(b) or (f) GDPR). Data is deleted once it is no longer required and no statutory retention obligations apply.

7. Your rights

You have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), objection (Art. 21), and to withdraw any consent given (Art. 7 (3) GDPR) at any time.

You may lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority — e.g. the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Baden-Württemberg.
